Oracle Database Monitoring through ActiveXperts Network Monitor

ActiveXperts Network Monitor is a software solution you need to scan your network servers, workstations and devices for failures or irregularities. With ActiveXperts Network Monitor, you can identify issues and fix unexpected problems before your others even know they've happened.
ActiveXperts Network Monitor maximizes network availability by monitoring all aspects of your servers, workstations, switches, routers, printers and any other devices. It can also detect temperature, humidity and other environmental aspects in your server rooms.

ActiveXperts Network Monitor requires SQL-Net (part of the Oracle Client Software) to monitor Oracle database servers. The SQL-Net layer is used to connect the client application to the server and exchange messages.

ActiveXperts Network Monitor provides two SQL-Net based Oracle checks:

  • TNSPing check;
  • Database Logon/logoff.

An ActiveXperts TNSPing check takes the following parameters:

  • Server TNS name - TNS name of the Oracle database.

An ActiveXperts Oracle Logon/Logoff check requires the following parameters:

  • Server TNS name - TNS name of the Oracle database;
  • Username/Login - credentials required to access the database;
  • Password - credentials required to access the database.
