Environmental Monitoring

This software is available as a download version or as a standalone appliance. It runs on a central system and monitors all network based sensors over tcp/ip from one single location.

When a problem is detected, alerts can be generated via email, SMS (cell phone text messages), telephone voice calls (using text-to-speech), signal tower (visual and audible alerts), and much more.

By using a GSM modem alerts are sent over the cell phone network. This ensures that alerts are still sent even when the internet or internal network connection is down. SMS messages can also be sent to the software to obtain status information. Check out the live SMS demo available on our website.

SP2 is an ethernet device that provides monitoring of one or two connected environmental sensors. Simply connect the SP2 to your network, assign an IP address, plug in the sensors and away you go! SP2 is supplied complete with a temperature probe but additional Optional Sensors are also available. SP2 automatically detects any sensors attached to ensure swift configuration. The SP2 is supplied with a 9V dc power adapter, and the sensors require no additional power supplies or batteries.

The ENVIROMUX® Server Environment Monitoring System monitors critical environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, liquid presence, motion, intrusion, and vibration.

When a sensor goes out of range a configurable threshold, the system will notify you via email, LEDs, alarm beacon, web page, network management (SNMP), and SMS messages (via external GSM modem).

The system includes three internal sensors: temperature, humidity and power. It also supports 16 external configurable sensors and eight digital input sensors. It can now graph the data from these sensors using MRTG for a visual representation of the environmental conditions being monitored.

Up to eight IP network video cameras can be associated with each ENVIROMUX for a live view of a facility from anywhere, anytime.

The Jacarta Alert Centre facility is a subscription-based service that works in conjunction with our environmental monitoring devices to provide automatic alarm notification via Email, SMS and voice alarm messages (to landline or mobile phones) to up to 6 recipients. The alerting process ensures key personnel are notified and the alarm acted upon via an escalation and acknowledgement process. Easy access to change personnel details, contact numbers, etc. is available via the Jacarta Alert Centre Login facility.

The NEWPORT® iTHX transmitter let's you monitor and record Temperature, Relative Humidity and Dew Point over an Ethernet network or the Internet with no special software except a Web Browser.

The NEWPORT iTHX serves Active Web Pages to display real time readings, display charts of temperature and humidity, or log data in standard data formats for use in a spreadsheet or data acquisition program such as Excel or Visual Basic. The virtual chart viewed on the web page is a JAVA™ Applet that records a chart over the LAN or Internet in real time. With the NEWPORT iTHX, there is no need to invest time and money learning a proprietary software program to log or chart the data.

The Powerware Environmental Monitoring Probe (EMP) enables you to remotely monitor environmental conditions as easily as you monitor power conditions. Using a standard Web browser, you can view the ambient temperature and humidity of the remote environment, as well as the status of two additional contact devices, such as a smoke detector or open-door sensor.

Some of the common probes include:

• Temperature - This is the most popular item. You can monitor the temperature for the datacenter as a whole, or can place a sensor on a particular rack. They are also useful for locations such as server closets where it is unlikely anyone will be around to notice a rise in temperature;
• Humidity - If the humidity is too high, it leads to corrosion. Too low and you have problems with excess static electricity;
• Water - Water on the floor, whether from a broken pipe or a leaky roof, can cause electrical shorts.

• Model EM1 - includes 4 groups of 3 probes to monitor temperature, humidty and wetness on three different locations;
• Model E4 - includes 4 probes to monitor temperature on four different locations;
• Model E8 - includes 8 probes to monitor temperature on eight different locations;
